Limiting API Keys to Specific Services

Configuring API keys to restrict access to specific API methods increases your data security and gives you control over which resources are available for individual projects.  Use this feature in conjunction with throttling and quotas for maximum control.

1. From your Dashboard select API Admin > API Keys.

2. Click Generate API Key.

3. Add a project name then click Generate Key.

4. Click the settings icon against your chosen API key.

5. Click Services and enable Restrict the API key to specific services.

6. Enable the chosen services.

7. Click X to close the configuration page.

8. Remove the restriction by clicking the settings icon, disable the service restriction(s) and disable Restrict the API key to specific services. 

Only the services you enable can be called using the chosen API key. Calls made to disabled services using the configured API key will return 403 Forbidden.
